One more year, in D-Lab: Design we have compiled an extensive list of amazing projects for our students to work on. We presented them all in class on Monday, when the students got their chance to find out more about the status of the project and any previous work, the associated community partners for each project, and the specific challenges that makes every project so unique and appealing. By the end of the class, the students were faced with the really hard problem of picking their top choices.
Much like the Oscars presented by the 'Academy', here in D-Lab the Academics have unveiled the nominations for the 16 projects that make up the list for this year. However, unlike the Oscars, here in D-Lab is the Audience who gets to pick the winners, as they'll be the ones carrying the projects forward during the rest of the semester.
Thus, and without further ado, the nominations for this year's Design Challenges go to:
- Bamboo Pencil Maker
- Braille Typewriter
- Charcoal Briquette Maker
- Chlorine Generator
- Clay Molder
- Forestry Growth Management
- Low CO Stove
- Maize Sheller Attachment
- Paper Bag Making
- Pine Needle Cutter
